Preferred Video Format: MP4
Preferred Video Codec: H.264 / AVC
Preferred Video Resolution: 1080x1920 (Full HD)
Target Video Bitrate: 10 Mbps (10,000 kbps)
Maximum Video Bitrate Cutoff: 12 Mbps (12,000 kbps)
Preferred Still Image Format: JPEG or PNG (1920x1080)
(Note: If delivering 4K content for capable devices like the Stix 3800, use the H.265/HEVC codec).
Extended Supported Formats (CMS on Android)
While the above specifications are preferred, the CMS is capable of supporting the following extended formats:
Video: MP4, MOV, AVI, FLV, F4V, WebM, WMV, 3GP, MPEG-2, M4V
Images: JPG, JPEG, PNG, BMP, GIF, WebP, SVG (Animated GIFs and WebPs supported on Android 9+)
Audio: MP3, AAC, WAV, FLAC, OGG, MIDI
Documents/Presentations: PDF, PowerPoint (PPT, PPTX)
HTML/Web Content: HTML5, HTM, XHTML (Supports uploading ZIP files containing HTML5/assets for local playback)
Data Feeds: RSS, XML, JSON
Fonts: Natively supports TrueType (TTF) and OpenType (OTF)
Streaming: RTSP, HTTP/HTTPS progressive streaming, and HLS (MPEG-2 TS)
For optimal performance and uninterrupted playback, all video content should be encoded as MP4 (H.264/AVC) with a maximum bitrate of 10,000 kbps.
