This instruction lays out how to install and set up a Duggal 72" LED digital Verizon V.
The 72" Digital V arrives to site in two pieces in a single crate.
You will be mounting the piece onto a wall that has been prepped to take the weight with 3/4" plywood and a recessed box in the wall to accept data and power.
1. Upon receiving delivery examine the exterior condition of the crate to ensure no physical damage has compromised hardware inside. Take photos of each side including serial number on sticker.
Bring crate into store and remove hardware:
- 2 sections of LED cabinet
- Novastar box, contains video processor
- Bubble wrapped bundles
- All other plastic bags containing hardware.
(Keep foam in store to protect surfaces and return box padding)
Return crate to truck driver for disposal.
2. Identify recessed wall box where "V" is to be installed.
Verify box is the right height and dimensions (refer to drawing for dimensions).
Verify power and data are in wall box and have been connected.
Have GC point out electrical breaker wall box is connected to. (Turn off power to designated outlet)
Have GC point out where data runs have been pulled to and communicate to Duggal contact. They will determine where video processor will be installed.
2. Wearing clean gloves, remove LED panels according to diagram below. From each cabinet.
Place panels on provided cardboard or blanket. Place in a pattern that you will remember how they go back on the cabinet.
-Loosen grommet on back of each cabinet holding data cable. Pull data cable into cabinet leaving 1 foot of length out back side. Coil cable inside cabinet and secure with velcro.
3. Measure mounting hole position from bottom of cabinet and vertical center line. (picture below)
4. Measure, mark, and place on wall holes for two temporary hanging screws. (See diagram below)
5. Two techs lift and mount left side of cabinet onto left temporary screw.
Find level according to vertical centerline.
Attach cabinet with two lag bolts.
Plug in power and data to first outlet.
6. Mount right side of cabinet onto temporary screw.
One tech stabilizes cabinet while second plugs in data to second data jack.
7. Adjusting & loosening screws as needed, align two halves of cabinet so center holes line up and can thread included screws to join two sides together. Once sides are aligned, attach right side to wall with two lag screws.
8. Attach two sides together with screws and washers using included right angle ratchet tool.
9. Check and adjust as needed for level before securing cabinet to wall with remainder of lag screws.
(use vacuum held up to drilling area to reduce dust in cabinet.)
Clean remaining dust from inside cabinet.
10. If parts of wall are impenetrable by lags or won't secure, they can be skipped. Cabinet needs minimum 8 lags to secure to wall sufficiently.
11. (Make sure power is cut off at breaker) Connect left and right power cables to matching colored ends of turn-block connection at power cable.
12. Reattach LED panels to cabinet in correct orientation. (Always connect data ribbon connection first before attaching power cable)
13. Place novastar unit at designated spot plug power and turn on. Connect data line 1 to output 1 and line 2 to output 2.
-If buttons are locked on Novastar unit, press knob and "esc" button together for three seconds until screen says "buttons unlocked"
- Display test pattern on V by pressing test button and navigating to different test patterns.
- Check solid color patterns red, green, and blue to check for any dead pixels on cabinet.
14. Connect Brightsign media player to power and network. Connect Brightsign to Novastar with HDMI cable from Brightsign out port into Novstar HDMI port 1.
15. Set vertical and horizontal settings on Novastar output according to diagram below. And set Novastar to display HDMI 1.
16. Wearing gloves, adjust LED panels depth using threaded magnets on back of panels so cabinet is one single flat pane.
17. Document content playing on screen, novastar and bright sign location. and serial number on brightsign.
Be sure to remove visible stickers from cabinet.
18. Assemble included cardboard box and pack with unused spare panels and electronic hardware. Ship back to Duggal with included UPS label the following day.
